Collinsville is proud to have a local recycling center available to our residents. Recycling has numerous benefits for our community and the environment.

There are many benefits to recycling:

  • Conserves natural resources
  • Creates jobs and businesses
  • Extends the useful lives of our landfills
  • Helps keep our neighborhoods clean
  • Reduces air and water pollution
  • Reduces gases that cause global warming

  • Aluminum cans - rinse and flatten
  • Batteries - household and auto - please tape over terminals first.
  • Cardboard - Must be flattened
  • Glass bottles - clear, brown and green only (no plate, pyrex or other glass accepted)
  • Magazines - up to one-inch thick catalogs
  • Newspapers - including glossy inserts
  • Office paper - includes envelopes, colored paper, and junk mail
  • Phone books
  • Plastics number 1 and number 2 - with neck or handle (check the bottom for number, remove the lid)
