[ARCHIVED] Independence Day Celebration

The City of Collinsville is gearing up for the biggest Independence Day Celebration yet!  The day will start with a parade of red, white, and blue down Main Street for the Independence Day Celebration Parade beginning at 9:00 in the morning.  Everyone is encourage to participate by entering their church, organization, sports team, family, or individual decorated bike, etc.  Entry forms are available below.  After the parade the festivities will move over to the Collinsville City Park where we'll have food trucks galore, face painting, inflatables and games in the Darling Ingredients Kids Zone and many more fun family activities.  There will be buses shuttling back and forth from the high school parking lot so parking will not be an issue.  

The OC Beach Volleyball Club will be holding a USAV Juniors Beach VB Tournament at the event beginning in the morning and continuing throughout the day.  

The traditional Independence Day Celebration Turtle Races will take place at 4:00 at the Collinsville Wrecker Turtle Area near the Volleyball Courts. Start training those turtles to be a part of the winning team!

Do you bake the Blue Ribbon winning pie? Enter the Independence Day Celebration PIE BAKING CONTEST! Pies should be entered between 4:30-5:00 PM at The Cake Lady Pie Pavillion near the splash pad.  All contestants must bring 2 of the exact same pie.  One will be judged and the other will be auctioned off to benefit Dividing Bread Ministries local food bank.

The Collinsville Masonic Lodge #165 will be hosting a Horseshoe Tournament in the evening so starting practicing your pitch to be named the Independence Day Celebration Horseshoe Champion!

Enter the Big Freeze frozen shirt contest presented by The Pop Shop for a fast cool off when it's hot.  Contestants will  have to thaw out their frozen shirts and the first one to get it on will be the winner!  

The City of Collinsville will be passing our FREE watermelon at the event and it doesn't get anymore small town America than that!  Along with the FREE watermelon will be the watermelon seed spitting contest.  That's sure to draw a crowd.

When the sun goes down you'll be on the edge of your seat as the City of Collinsville puts on one of the best fireworks displays in Green Country.  Choreographed to the sound of patriotic music blasting from the stage you won't be disappointed you came.  Collinsville continues to grow this event and this year's event is sure to out show them all!
