[ARCHIVED] Memorial Day Remembrance Wall

2021memorialdayremembrancewall

Memorial Day is a day to remember the lives of the brave men and women who answered the call of duty to serve their country and some ultimately gave their lives. So many Americans and Collinsville men and women made sacrifices to provide us the freedoms we have today. Today is a time to remember the heroes who made our freedom possible.

This year’s virtual Memorial Day Remembrance Wall has names of Veterans buried at Ridgelawn Cemetery who died having served in defense of our country along with photographs, personal stories, and tributes for all to see.

Any deceased veteran buried at Ridgelawn Cemetery can be honored (the veteran did not have to perish while serving). The City of Collinsville is encouraging the public to enter online, a photo and written remembrance, along with the following information: name, military branch (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, National Guard, Navy) and conflict served (Afghanistan and Iraq, September 11, Gulf War, Vietnam, Korea, WWII, WWI, Peacetime, Other).  Military photos are preferred but not necessary.

We would like to have all memorials submitted before Friday, May 28, 2021.
