Residents of the City of Collinsville,
After an extensive analysis by ISO, the City of Collinsville and the Collinsville Fire Department are pleased to announce that we have earned an improved ISO rating. Effective September 1, 2023, The City of Collinsville’s new ISO rating will be Class 2 which is an improvement from our previous rating of Class 3.
The classification, known as the Public Protection Classification (PPC) program, assesses a community’s fire protection efforts. The rating is based on four factors which include: 911 dispatch capabilities; fire department equipment, personnel, and Training; the water supply, treatment, and Distribution system; and community risk reduction efforts. ISO then assigns a Public Protection Classification from 1 to 10.
The highest rating of a Class 1 represents superior property fire protection and Class 10 indicates the area’s fire suppression program doesn’t meet ISO’s minimum criteria. ISO evaluates more than 38,000 fire departments across the United States. Of those jurisdictions, only seven percent earn a Class 2 designation or better.
This improved ISO rating reflects the continued investment in public safety by the City of Collinsville and represents the hard work put forth by the members of the Collinsville Fire Department.
This improved score may help residents and businesses within the City of Collinsville lower their insurance costs. Property owners are encouraged to contact their insurance company regarding this new ISO rating.
Sincerely:
